14MarElizabeth ♥ Thomas – The ceremony
Photographed by No Eye Has Seen.![]()

Up until the wedding I always heard that the wedding day passes by so fast, that it’s almost impossible to soak it all in. So I had primed myself to be as ‘in the moment’ as possible while I walked down the aisle – soak in as many impressions as possible, with all of my senses during this big moment. As my dad and I stood, ready to step in (and had a last minute panic remembering on which side he was supposed to stand), I know that in just a minute we would be welcomed by all those people who we cared for. It was a strange experience for me; Thomas had arrived at the church in good time and had had the chance to hug and talk and welcome our guests; for me, it was an overwhelming experience treading onto the aisle with so many eyes on me; no silently blending in, which would usually be more my nature.
As soon as the doors opened, I had an overwhelming urge to walk over to every single guest and give them all a huge hug. Instead, I did my best to smile wildly and catch everyone’s eye as if to say that I reciprocated their love and happiness. I felt so fortunate that every single person who we had invited and cared about, was able to be there on this day, just for us.
At the end of the aisle, Thomas stood with the hugest smile. When I arrived, we gave each other a little kiss and then sat opposite each other as is tradition. I sat together with my father, Thomas with his 2 best men.

To give each other our rings, but especially the blessing with the priest’s hand on my shoulder and Thomas hand in my right hand was an intense and moving moment. It was so wonderful to finally be able to kiss each other and finally sit together now as husband and wife.

Our priest made a beautiful speech about the nature of love, and the gospel choir sang ”You Are Holy” and “Signed, Sealed, Delivered“.

After this, time passed so, so fast. At the church’s entrance, we stood and kissed until we could then receive our guests. Finally I had the chance to hug properly hug our friends and family and give them hugs and kisses.
Thomas’ best man told us that it had started to rain a little outside, and I put my bolero back on. But I just remember that it rained with white, pink and red rose petals while we walked by the happy, smiling faces towards the Pontiac which was waiting for us to drive us to the boats…

Vakkert!

Hej Elisabeth! Venlig hilsen Nadia.
Hej Nadia,
Tak for dine søde ord :)
