Oh my! Even as a blogger myself, I am so excited to see that the pictures from Audrey’s and my Scandinavian inspired photoshoot, which I featured a couple of weeks ago (here and here) were featured yesterday on a beautiful, french wedding blog – La Mariée Aux Pieds Nuds (“the barefooted bride”). It’s such an honour seeing our work among such gorgeousness. So, I here present to you the new blog on the block, Little Dot, where I’m trying out a slightly different format, but also going back to my roots. It’s in Danish, but like Pretty Chic Blog, it has lots of pictures so there should be plenty of inspiration to draw from (as well as a bunch of photos of my son, who is the cutest on the planet… okay, I might be a teeny little biased on that statement…).

I hope you’ll come on by, and I would be so, so happy if you would leave a comment or maybe even like it on Facebook (if you like it, of course)… it would absolutely make my day :)

As for Pretty Chic Blog (and my hopelessly booming inbox), I really must apologize for the silence – but I promise to get back on track this week. In fact there is a huge bunch of really great weddings with gorgeous photography coming up, as well as an interview where we will learn some advice on finding the right wedding dress. So do come back soon, I promise I won’t disappoint!

I have decided to write this guide after having received a number of requests from both brides and photographers for advice on how to get published on wedding blogs. Although I focus on wedding submissions in this post, the same advice goes for all kinds of wedding related submissions; styled shoots, engagement shoots, trash the dress  sessions, boudoir and the like.

Firstly, let me start off by saying that I don’t claim to be the utmost expert on this issue. The advice I’m going to give you in this post is mostly based on my own background as a wedding blogger and my own priorities as the submission receiver, but I do feel this guide to be relevant to most wedding blogs out there.

However, I have experienced being part of the submitting end: my own wedding was published on Style Me Pretty, my rustic chic invitations featured on Sparkle and Hay and the Scandinavian Bride inspiration shoot was featured on The Wedding Chicks.

1: Know the blog and their audience

First of all, be sure to do your research before submitting a wedding. Most blogs have an angle or niche that they focus on to stand out in the wedding blog jungle out there, for instance by focusing on vintage style, rustic styles, whimsical styles, contemporary styles and so on. In other words: be sure that the photographs and the style of the wedding you want to submit resonates with the style of the blog.

Pretty Chic Blog focuses on weddings which clearly reflect the personal style of the bridal couple and on vendors located in the Scandinavian area, and for this reason priority is given to weddings which are located in these countries. Occasionally, a non-Scandinavian wedding is featured if the wedding is really, really good, if the majority of the vendors involved will deliver to Scandinavian countries, or if the ideas and concepts can be easily translated into a Scandinavian setting.

2: Select your pictures carefully

Continuing on from the previous point: when selecting your pictures, be sure to match your collection of pictures with the style of the wedding blog. Ensure that the ratio of detail pictures versus portraits and reportage-style shots is reflective of the focus of the blog. Many high profile weblogs are very detail oriented and will generally only accept clean photographs with focus on details. Some wedding blogs are more focused on reportage-style photographs that capture the emotional essence of weddings, while others again are focused on wedding fashion editorials and prefer to feature wedding submissions focused on wedding gowns, beauty and accessories.

Many blogs however, including Pretty Chic Blog, like to include all aspects of a wedding, and appreciate a mixture of all of the above categories.

Another tip when trying to select the pictures you want to submit; be sure to keep the collection of images you’re submitting coherent – if your specialty is the vintage effect, stick to this one effect rather than a mixture. If there is a prevailing colour palette throughout the wedding, it’s a blogger’s dream to receive a set of images which have already been carefully selected and curated. This makes it all that much easier for the blogger to visualise the layout and final blog feature as a clean and cohesive post.

3: Detail shots

Most wedding blogs (and magazines, too), don’t just serve as a place to showcase stunning wedding photography – focus is very often placed on inspiring upcoming brides to create their own, unique event. For this reason, many wedding blogs focus on the details of the wedding rather than the people. For these kinds of blogs, send along as many photographs as possible of the DIY place cards, the stunning flowers, a fashion detail on the bride’s dress – the details which the couple are proud to show and display. For this reason, pictures in colour are usually preferred over those in black and white.

Many photographers that I talk to express that catching many detail shots can be a challenge – mostly because Nordic brides generally tend to keep things much simpler than what we see in American weddings. If you’re lucky to have detail oriented brides, then that’s fantastic – be sure to photograph everything you can. If possible, take shots of the dining and reception area when everything is ready and set up, but before the guests arrive, in order to get clear shots of these.

If the couple have preferred to prioritize other aspects of the wedding, then look around the venue which the couple for sure have placed a lot of thought into when choosing – is there an interesting doorknob, window, armchair which is reflective of the style of the wedding? Take close ups of the bride’s lace dress through the sun’s rays, borrow the jewelry, the clutch and the shoes and style little sceneries with these details. Ask the couple if they can send you a copy of their invitations and save the dates before the wedding, and offer to take a beautiful picture of them. Ask the bride if there is a story behind their ‘something blue’ or the choice of flowers, or if there is any detail in particular that she is especially fond of or proud of, that she has made herself. Things that are untraditional or have a story which makes the event personal to the couple are  excellent details – just remember to submit the story that goes along with the picture.

4: Portraits and reportage shots

With all that being said, let’s not forget what weddings are really about – the celebration of the union of two people. We love to feel the love!

If you specialise in catching emotions that surface on this day and stunning portraits, then many blogs will welcome these images too. I feel lucky to receive lots of these. I especially appreciate images of genuine emotions, cheeky, sensual and happy expressions in yummy, golden light or black and white, and I’m happy to see that the trend of stone-cold expressions and overly dramatic post production is a thing of the past.

5: Read and follow the submission guidelines

Wedding blogs often have a submissions page with guidelines (as an example, find Pretty Chic Blog submissions page here). These are written to streamline the reviewing and posting process, and I strongly advise you to follow these, not just as guidelines, but as rules. The size, format and resolution guidelines are given to you to make your pictures look their best in the context of the design of the website. If the guidelines state that pictures should be submitted at a size of 750 pixels in width (as in Pretty Chic Blog’s case), be sure that you submit both portrait and landscape images in this size.

Submitting the images in the correct sizes and resolution can also make a world of difference to the blogger, as this will leave less post editing work for them with adjusting the pictures to the blog’s design. This means that if your submission doesn’t fit with the guidelines, it will risk being left on the back burner until the blogger has the time to post edit – and for some blogs which receive hundreds of weddings daily, this will be enough reason for them not to accept a submission.

Something else which is important to take note of, is that all blogs like to publish fresh content, but some blogs are particularly strict with regards to exclusivity, meaning that their blog must be the first to publish the images. If you have your heart set on having your wedding featured on a particular blog with a strict exclusivity rule, then be sure to request a publication date. If you can’t be given a fixed date, or your wedding hasn’t been published by the publication date, you might want to consider withdrawing your submission and sending your pictures to a different blog instead.

Keep in mind that most blogs are happy to feature a wedding, even if you have submitted it to other blogs too. Submitting to these blogs gives you the opportunity to reach out to many different readerships and target groups at once.

Pretty Chic Blog loves to be the first to publish a wedding, but also accepts gorgeous weddings which have been submitted and featured elsewhere too.

6: Number of pictures to submit

While this is different from blog to blog, it might be worth noting that many blogs, including Pretty Chic Blog, will accept a large number of pictures – 100-150 pictures is usually a reasonable number, as bloggers such as myself love to have plenty of images to choose from when laying out the feature. Other bloggers prefer a set of 10-15 thumbnails sent by email to make it easy to scan and review – again, consult the guidelines of the specific blog you’re submitting to.

7: Include as much information as possible

As with the point above, how much information you should submit really differs from blog to blog, as some blogs are inundated by so many submissions that they prefer a handful of thumbnails and very short, to the point descriptions of the wedding you are submitting in order to scan quickly. Other blogs, like Pretty Chic Blog encourage you to send as much information as possible to keep the submission process as short as possible.

As mentioned earlier, wedding blog readers search for inspiration in making their own wedding day as personal and unique as possible. For this reason, most wedding blogs like to see themselves as a wedding vendor ressource, and will list as many names as possible of the businesses which have been involved with each featured wedding. Wedding bloggers like myself love it when you send an extensive and detailed list, including URLs to their websites, of all the vendors involved in a wedding or photo shoot. This means that the blogger needs to spend less time and energy trying to chase down this information, which again will streamline their process. In addition, you are helping and affiliating yourself with talented colleagues by giving them the credit they deserve.

Besides learning about vendors than can help style their wedding days, wedding blog readers love to hear the stories behind the wedding – especially if the stories come from the brides themselves. Ask the bride if they are willing to write a few phrases about their big day. Most brides love to relive the day and are happy to help. Popular topics are the stories behind the details, advice for new brides, what was important to the couple for their wedding day, and what did the couple do to make the wedding reflective of themselves as a couple?

8: Tell us a little bit about yourself

Being featured on a wedding blog is equivalent to being recommended as a vendor, and for this reason it’s a good idea to include a short description of yourself – where are you located, what’s your background, what makes you different from other photographers, what’s your style? Although this wasn’t very common when I first started blogging 2 years ago, it’s great to see so many photographers and wedding vendors embracing blogging as a way of showcasing their own work and documenting what’s going on. To a wedding blogger like me, browsing through your blog gives me an excellent idea of your general work, your personality and experience, and gives me a great background on which to base my recommendation.

9: If your submission is declined…

… don’t give up! The reasons why submissions are declined don’t necessarily have to do with the work not being good enough – it can have to do with the season, or if the blogger has just accepted to feature another wedding in a similar style. Don’t be afraid to ask why your submission was declined – the wedding bloggers I know and have met are rather nice people and like to help with feedback on what you should focus on for your next submission. They may even be able to refer you to another wedding blog where they feel that your submission might be a better match.

It’s funny how time flies. A year ago, I was planning the final details of my own wedding, deciding if I should wear a long veil, a short veil or none at all… and now it’s a whole other set of details… we’re counting down the 6 weeks until our bundle of love will be arriving to the world. Our baby. I just can’t wait to finally meet him.

Trash Couture Fashion Show gallery

I wrote about Trash Couture‘s beautiful wedding gowns, made from vintage textiles a little while back, and yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to Trash Couture’s fashion show at Copenhagen Fashion Week yesterday. I’ll admit – this is the first time I have ever been to such a thing, and I did panic a little in the morning morning. What to wear? At a fashion show, knowing that I would be going directly from work? Not to mention that my wardrobe has shrunk the past couple of months, with only a few maternity dresses which I am still able to fit into.

I suppose I turned up in something convincingly ‘pressy’, in that I was immediately directed to the area reserved for the press. Which wasn’t bad, not bad at all, as this secured me a seat close to the catwalk and a fantastic view. Although my camera is infinitely small compared to the many professionals on tripods and gigantic flashes, with shutters chattering away while I tried to carefully select my own shots to spare my battery… It was so fun – my first time at a fashion show and my first time being treated as a ‘member of the press’.

Admittedly, I don’t have much experience with fashion shows, and few I can compare with – but I can confidently say, this was a beautiful one of its kind, and from what I gathered from the photographers sitting around me, (and I got the feeling that they had seen a lot of fashion shows,) they felt the same way.

Indeed, the dresses were amazing, and the show beautifully and poetically set up with ballet dancers among the catwalk models, music ranging from classical music, over the Amélie soundtrack, to the delicate sound of raindrops and over to the Psycho soundtrack. I took many, many pictures, which are all in the Trash Couture gallery right here… but here are just a few, to give you the essence of this rather spectacular event… starting off with a short video of the stunning intro…

The dresses changed colour throughout the show – from bright white to blush, yellow, green…

… to finally deliver a collection of extremely chic, black dresses, accompanied by two ‘black swans’.

Again, I was so surprised and impressed with this show. The gowns were airy, flowy and light, made from feathers, lace, and what appears to be chiffon, with lots and lots of curated details… and I can only imagine what a dream they must be to wear. As I mentioned, I have many more photos for you in the gallery (I know I can’t stop looking at them) – but if you’re looking for even more pictures of each individual dress, visit Copenhagen Fashion Week’s site and see the whole show here.

Not quite completely unpacked, but inspired, energized and so happy to see my inbox overflowing with beautiful wedding pictures which I just can’t wait to show you! Throughout the duration of the Summer Favourites series on the blog, I spent my summer vacation relaxing, soaking in so many new impressions, spending time with good friends and even meeting quite a number of new ones. So please forgive me for this rather long and personal summer recap – it’s just been a fantastic holiday, and one which I know that I will remember forever.

My summer trip began with the excellent opportunity of meeting up with Melissa from Wedding Obsession in downtown Edmonton for a cup of coffee. If you don’t already know Melissa, I think you should check out her blog Wedding Obsession. Not only does Melissa focus on Canadian weddings, but she has excellent and refreshing taste especially within the modern, contemporary style. I personally also really enjoy it when she picks out songs for first dances, wedding waltzes or just to party to. It’s so nice to meet someone else in a corner of the world with the same passion as myself, and exchanging experiences with someone who has been blogging for a while longer than me. Again, I really think you should go check her site out – go, go, go!

Remember the picnic inspired bachelorette party that I helped planning last month? The bride was married in captivating nature surroundings at the Jasper National Park in Alberta (where Kate and Will may or may not have also spent the night on their day off during their Canadian tour). If you ask me, there really are few things as beautiful as a wedding (erm… well, you wouldn’t have guessed, would you?), but especially watching 2 close friends tie the knot in absolutely gorgeous surroundings – mountains, lakes and tall, tall trees to the sound of the violin – well, that can’t be beaten.

After this, we went more urban with a trip to Calgary and then to Vancouver, where I had the honour of meeting up with Jakob and Cole from Nordica Photography, (yup, the duo behind this adorable engagement shoot and this very Swedish wedding). Such a pleasure to meet up with two talented guys, who you’ve gotten to know through the written word and their pictures, and a really learning experience in terms of understanding the lifestyle of a wedding photographer (which I have come to realise is tough, but at the same time, it’s a life I am starting to envy more and more). Although based in Vancouver, Jakob and Cole often travel to the nordic countries – these are talented guys, and I absolutely understand why so many would hire them to travel to the other side of the world.

After a stop at some friends’ house in Seattle, Thomas and I arrived in Iceland. Unfortunately we only got to spend little more than 2 days in this rocking country, but I really must go back. The cosy city of Reykjavik and the exceptional nature of the surroundings is absolutely breathtaking and something I need to explore more. And this is to you Icelandic and destination wedding photographers: I really hope to feature many more Icelandic weddings in the future, so please do drop me an email if you do get the opportunity to shoot one!

Finally, a lovely, lovely surprise: then I learnt this when I finally got back home to Copenhagen. If you’ve been following the wedding blogs the past couple of weeks, you may have seen that the results from the photoshoot I had briefly mentioned a while ago were published on a really, really great wedding blog. More on that very soon – right now, it’s back to unpacking and paying my overstuffed inbox some attention… (I know! I owe many of you replies – they are on their way!)

…but before I leave you, here’s a behind the scenes picture from the photoshoot mentioned above, taken by the lovely Audrey Smit when she dropped by on a whim with strawberry cake, her sweet baby daughter and her camera (you can imagine she was especially popular that day!)

Aaaaanyway. It’s been a while since I last posted a moodboard, and thought I would show one which I made for this shoot. Eventually we ended up with a different theme, but I really did like the idea in this one. I’m just as crazy as the rest of the blog world with the watercolour/ombre details that are appearing not only on invitations, but on napkins, table throws, flowy dresses etc.. and to me, watercolours go together with the beach and sunsets and pearlescent hues.

So the idea behind this board was the famous painting by Danish painter P.S. Krøyer (not watercolour, but still), which you see featured at the bottom of the board. Had we gone forward with this board, we would definitely have had easels, painted vases, paintings as backdrops to dessert tables and ombre invitations in blush and blue shades, lots and lots of pictures in the sunset – while still keeping it all a little modern bohemian and wild with rough nature surroundings.

I don’t often post about life behind the scenes, but this has been such a great experience for me. I’ve reached a milestone which I set when I started my blog almost 2 years back: I finally got to participate at a photoshoot. And not just any photoshoot: but one which I could only have dreamed of, with the most talented, sweetest and most beautiful vendors. And while we’re waiting for the pictures, I am not at all in doubt that the results will be A-MA-ZING!!

So I’m sure that you want me to tell you more, and honestly, I really want to. I’ve been floating on air all day! But you are going to have to wait a little longer. So sorry! I don’t know what it is about it, but I am so afraid of jinxing it if I tell you too much. But I assure you that the wait will be worth while. I promise!

Oh, okay then. While I wasn’t the photographer there, I did sneak a handful of shots, just for my own sake and to prove to myself that yes, I was there! And so, for you, here’s a sneak peak. The picture you see below is of our table in the corner where we relaxed and snacked in futile moments. Croissants, strawberries, Pepsi Max, juice, candy and desserts. Yeah, it was tough work.

Now, you see those pretty peonies and tulips on the table? Besides left over sweets, I got to bring home the flowers. Here’s a closer look, just because I think you’ll love them as much as me:

… and where did I put them? Well right now they’re decorating at my new office corner (the Pretty Chic Blog headquarters, haha). Today was a bank holiday in Denmark, and this was the first step in the ‘baby’s room project’. While the old office is being transformed into a children’s room, the indoor terrace has now been changed into the interim office until we figure out where to move our office stuff in the living room. I do, however, love my new little nook which is assembled from a chair and old table which we found in the garage and inherited from my grandparents. I also love how uncluttered it is for now – we’ll see how long this lasts though, teehee…

So there you go: a peek at what my life looks like these days. Not too shabby, if I may say so myself! Now, if only this were my day job…

Kære læsere,

Jeg har ikke vidst, om jeg skulle skrive dette indlæg eller ej, da det på mange måder føles som en ret personlig nyhed. Men da jeg har skrevet sammen med en del af jer, og jeg oven i købet har mødt flere af jer skønne, dejlige læsere i virkeligheden, så synes jeg næsten kun, at jeg skylder jer at fortælle hvor min blog er på vej hen.

Bloggen har nu haft ialt over 500.000 sidevisninger, og antallet af besøgende er støt stigende for hver måned. Jeg har fået rigtig mange svar på mit spørgeskema (tusind tak for det!) og i det hele taget så går det rigtig, rigtig godt med bloggen. Så godt, at jeg har besluttet mig for at prøve noget nyt for virkelig at se, hvor langt jeg kan nå i forhold til den fedeste drøm man kan have som bryllupsblogger – nemlig at leve af at blogge. Jeg har derfor besluttet at fra dette indlæg, så skifter jeg sprog til engelsk.

Jeg ved ikke – var det en fuser af en nyhed for jer? For de fleste af jer vil det jo ikke gøre nogen stor forskel. Man ser danske blogs der pludselig skifter til engelsk fra den ene dag til den anden, uden nogen særlig postyr – sådan er det vist bare generelt, når man gerne vil prøve at være stor. Og I er jo vant til at læse engelsk, det er jo trods alt fællessproget i bryllupsbloglandet derude. Men alligevel er det med et sus og spændthed i maven, at jeg gør det. For selv om det i første omgang blot er en ændring af sproget, så betyder det enormt meget for mig at jeg tager dette skridt. Det har hele tiden været tanken at jeg skulle gøre det en dag (derfor bloggens engelske navn) og det er noget jeg snakket om både herhjemme og blandt leverandører og venner i lang tid. I snart 2 år har jeg skrevet til danskere og på dansk, og det har været så skønt at have mit lille hjørne her i bryllupsblogland. Men nu fik jeg et sidste kærlige skub og en klar melding om, at der er mange der tror på mig og gerne vil støtte mig, og at jeg var den sidste der manglede at tro på det – så nu gør jeg det.

Jeg har det som om, lille Elizabeth nu er blevet stor og flytter fra lille Danmark og skal prøve lykken i store Amerika, med min lille kuffert med erfaring i hånden og et par telefonnumre i baglommen. Sådan har jeg det virkelig. For selv om jeg via statistikkerne og spørgeskemaerne har opdaget at jeg faktisk har ikke så få udenlandske læsere, så er jeg virkelig spændt på hvad der sker nu, hvor jeg for alvor skal konkurrere imod alle de andre helt fantastiske bryllupsbloggere om at være unik og levere indhold i høj kvalitet.

Enkelte af jer vil måske have det, som om jeg distancerer mig fra mit eksisterende publikum. Det er naturligvis ikke meningen og håber virkelig ikke at det bliver sådan. Jeg håber, at I fortsat vil bevare kontakten, skrive emails og kommentarer (også gerne på dansk, hvis I har det bedst med det), og jeg vil fortsat gøre mit bedste for at besvare – for det er på grund af jer at jeg har fundet modet til at gøre det.

Det er det, der bliver min kant, når jeg skal ud og tage verden med storm. Håber, at det kan give lidt ro i maven – men hvor er jeg glad for at høre, at der er nogen der har været så glade for min danske blog…

Hvad, skal vi ikke have nogle flere blogs i Danmark? Kunne være super med et lille bryllupsblogfællesskab! Jeg er i hvert fald med!

Jeg savnede selv som kommende brud ét sted i bryllupsjunglen på nettet, hvor alle de mest labre og lækre leverandører inden for den danske bryllupsbranche var samlet. Forhandlerguiden er altså ikke bare en liste over alle leverandørerne i hele det danske land – men et overblik over de bedste, som er håndplukket helt specielt til bloggens læsere.

Indtil videre vil jeg gerne takke alle jer brude(par) og leverandører, som allerede har hjulpet mig ved at anbefale alle de skønne leverandører der er på guiden. Har jeg glemt nogen, så skriv meget gerne til mig! :)

…og da ethvert indlæg på bloggen fortjener et billede, får I lige et skønt et af en smuk, smuk brud lige her, fra en af leverandørerne på Forhandlerguiden, samt månedens leverandør, Amanda Thomsen :)

Ud over farverne og skrifttyperne er der gjort plads til forhandlerguiden – stedet hvor jeg vil liste alle de bedste forhandlere inden for bryllupsbranchen i Danmark. Den ser godt ud men er stadig under opbygning, den skulle gerne komme op inden for et par ugers tid. Kender du en forhandler, som du mener at bloggens læsere vil få glæde af at kende, så skriv til mig!

Jeg har også fået lagt en side op, dedikeret til inspirationskilder – massevis af links til bryllupsrelaterede websites. Også her er du mere end velkommen til at bidrage med dine forslag til de bedste links og sites.

Sidst, men slet ikke mindst, har jeg langt om længe fået opdateret min Om bloggen side, oven i købet med en lille video. Jeg *forsøger* at være så naturlig som muligt, men det er nu ikke helt let at tale ind i et kamera… og jeg vænner mig nok aldrig til min egen stemme.

Så ta-daa! Det var en lille kort gennemgang af sitet som det ser ud nu – jeg håber, at I vil give mig lidt feedback til hvad der fungerer eller ikke fungerer… jeg vil selv til at rydde op i min meget, meget store indbakke så jeg kan starte det nye år på en frisk! :)

Jeg selv har nydt at være begravet i en god, gammeldags dyne af hygge med god mad og forberedelser til det nye år. Ikke mindst har jeg nydt at holde helt ferie, med mobilen slukket og mailen som kun bliver tjekket når jeg syntes, at jeg ikke kunne strække den længere.

Og så fik jeg endelig ro til fordybelse i et projekt, som jeg havde øremærket juleferien på, inden det går løs med detox og nyt job – nemlig redesign af bloggen. Det ser ret godt ud, hvis jeg selv skal sige det… Stadigvæk feminint, ret anderledes fra det nuværende design; mindre kækt og ret blidt og Anthropologie inspireret (om I kan se det, ved jeg ikke, men det var det, jeg havde i tankerne da jeg gik i gang). Med fokus på varme pasteller og et patineret, lidt nostalgisk udtryk. Jeg løfter sløret en lille smule:

En af de ting jeg glæder mig til og har gjort plads til er forhandlerguiden, som jeg planlægger at launche i løbet af foråret. Jeps – det er blevet tid til at få samlet alle de bedste forhandlere i Danmark og omegn – brudekjoledesignere, fotografer, blomsterdekoratører, koordinatorer og små, finurlige butikker der har lige dén detalje du mangler.

Jeg vil i den forbindelse gerne høre fra dig – har du gjort dig et fund af en dygtig forhandler – stor som lille, etableret som ny – så hører jeg meget gerne fra dig. Skriv meget gerne til mig på elizabeth@prettychicblog.dk med navnet på forhandleren, et link til deres hjemmeside og gerne med et par ord omkring hvor dygtige de er.

Jeg glæder mig vildt meget til at få de sidste detaljer på plads og til at løfte sløret for det endelige, nye site!

Beærede bryllupsinteresserede bloglæsere – jeg hedder Stephanie, og jeg vil optræde som kombineret gæsteblogger og pauseklovn her på sitet. D. 31/7 blev jeg gift med min fantastiske mand, Nicklas, som jeg har været sammen med de sidste 5 år. Vi er begge studerende og bor på et kollegium nord for København. Ud over at dele en passion for at leve livet er vi urimeligt glade for mad, gerne indtaget i godt selskab, og for at rejse, spille rollespil og lave alskens kreative projekter.

Henover efteråret vil jeg (såfremt jeg ikke løber ind i en skriveblokade eller andre forhindringer på min vej) her på Pretty Chic Blog skrive erindringsbilleder fra vores bryllup, og skildre dagen som jeg oplevede den. De steder, hvor jeg har noget på hjerte, vil jeg dele mine erfaringer, og de steder, hvor jeg ikke har, må billederne tale for sig selv.

Apropos billeder – dagen efter vores bryllup havde en af gæsterne lagt nedenstående billede på Facebook. Det er godt nok taget med en iPhone, og er i relativt dårlig kvalitet, men det var det første billede vi fik vores ivrige fingre i.

Billedet er taget lige inden middagen, i den sene eftermiddagssol, på den gård hvor vi holdt bryllupsfesten.

Tænk, at det er et år siden, at jeg skrev første indlæg til denne blog! Hvad der startede som et sted, hvor jeg kunne få lov at dyrke det smukke, fine og feminine, er nu blevet til et kærlighedsprojekt som jeg faktisk er blevet ret stolt af…

Jeg husker tydeligt hvordan jeg lå og næsten ikke kunne sove, fordi det krillede så meget i mine fingre, da jeg besluttede mig for at jeg ville starte bloggen. I nogle uger forinden var jeg begyndt at søge på ideer til vinterbryllupper, og frem dukkede de smukke, smukke hjemmesider som Style Me Pretty, Bride’s Café og Once Wed frem… hver gang jeg besøgte dem var det som at træde ind i de smukke, smukke små verdener, som mange brude og fotografer skabte for sig selv og for andre… og jeg syntes bare vi manglede sådan en blog i Danmark. I løbet af året er det blevet til en masse gode udfordringer for mig, på mange aspekter – inspiration, design, formidling… i løbet af tiden har jeg mødt mange, søde mennesker, som har givet mig et indblik i deres tanker, overvejelser og ikke mindst deres store dag.

Tak for alle jeres kommentarer og emails – jeg læser dem allesammen, og de gør stor lykke.
